![]() I thought the 2016 reboot was atrocious, and even though Rift Apart is MILES better, it still cannot live up. I’ve been with the series since it’s inception, loved the original trilogy to death, and really liked the future saga despite feeling like they were a step down from the originals. I think Rift Apart failed on some major accounts, mostly related to story and characters. ![]() But I got sick of most scenes she appeared in very fast.Īlso I definitely share the same opinion as most others here, why would you make a rachet and clank game and then force us to play rivet for the majority of the game? It honestly feels like Insomniac have lost their touch for R&C stories and couldnt think of anything fun for them to do. Maybe it was her constant whining or awful jokes or just her telling Ratchet she wasnt worth being friends with all the time. I honestly hated Kit, I have no idea what you people are thinking. Did you just forget to add the other Ratchet levels? Which is strange since this game wasnt even out at release. What the hell happened Insomniac? Between this and Miles Morales it feels like Sony squeezed 2 barely passable games out of you for the console release. Its criminally short in my honest opinion and adding in the ability to do a new game plus should not excuse having a story thats barely over 10 hours long. Rift Apart, in my opinion, could’ve had a much more complex or mature story without it being confusing, no doubt about it :) The original FF7 is complex enough, but does it in an amazing way, while the Remake just throws a bunch of stuff at you which of course will confuse new players and upset old fans. It’s too much, which is director Nomura’s obsession. In terms of your FF7 example, well, FF7 remake isn’t just complex - it’s nonsensical. Thing is, they could’ve had different skills or weapons, which I don’t think would’ve made it felt like you “started from scratch” at all since each level would be scaled and meant for each character. Having a difference between them therefore makes perfect sense, and I’m sure it could’ve been done really well if it was just thought out well enough. ![]() Rift Apart is a LOT more flexible than the last of us 2, in that you can jump back and forth between characters whenever you want. I understand what you’re saying, but I don’t agree that your examples validates the game’s simplicity. ![]()
